FEATURE REQUEST: FIX 3RD PARTY VENDORS!

There is a serious problem with used Samsung devices in the 3rd party vendor market, all over the world and Samsung needs to do something about it.

Almost every day there is a post asking why can't I update my phone, why can't I get any service. WHY, WHY WHY!

I will tell you why, there is no Verified Samsung Reseller P.rogram which there should be. 

Millions of devices sold in pallets that haven't all been factory rest without the former carrier software removed, the proper CSC codes for the region they are being sold in. People think they are going to sites such as Amazon to buy a used phone and it will just work out of the box, it doesn't always happen that way unbeknownst to the end user. 

There is an amazingly simple solution: Implementation of a Verified BY Samsung Reseller Program (VBS). They can charge a fee to get verified and to buy the equipment necessary to flash the devices with the proper software for wherever the devices are going to be sold. The seller can charge a premium to insure they work wherever they are being sold.

I am saddened by all the posts in this community and elsewhere of this very serious problem. 

It's not just Samsung, carriers are responsible too, they don't always carrier unlock the devices that get traded in too. If it is done properly as soon as that device is resold and a new SIM/ESIM gets installed the carrier firmware is replaced with the new carriers software.

I get it Samsung doesn't want to rock the boat with carriers. After all 85% of Samsung phones sold in the US are through carriers, sometimes you just need to rock the boat, even over turn it.

Personally, I'd like to see them bypass the carriers altogether when it comes to major software updates. A boy can dream!

The subject was clear and concise. I'm sure the consumer looking to purchase a Samsung that had previously been used would appreciate the thought of knowing when they receive their phone it's not going to be a hassle.

If this gets more attention maybe people's hard earned money will go to the company providing a better resale service. This way the market can course correct and the people that want Samsung but would happily use their purchasing power to award a company that can help the transition into a "new-to-you" phone.

When you want a phone but need to save for essentials every dollar counts. Bringing attention to this corporate issue helps the resellers and in the end the consumer, as it should be, and not the corporation that is overlooking an issue that can have a real affect on people's everyday lives.
