Ok, so first Google has auto- call screening.
Now Apple is coming out with their own hands free screening service.

PLEASE Samsung, either partner with Google for auto- call screening or create your own software, that isn't Bixby. I get too many spam calls and "Bixby Call Screening" is useless as you have to manually have the phone do it. Was hoping with One UI 8 this would be a competing feature now that Apple is coming out with theirs, and I see no such thing on the horizon 😔 😭

Depending on how the Pixel 10 Pro XL looks this year I may abandon Samsung again for them. Very disappointed Samsung!!

That's all well and good, but Samsung can do better than with Bixby. Call screening is just that and shouldn't require an interaction or your phone to ring until the caller passes the original process.

While it may sound like a great feature, it has tremendous drawbacks. The reason I do not get many spam calls is that I NEVER ANSWER a CALL that isn't in my contact list or has no caller ID attached to the caller. The more calls you answer, the more spam calls you will get.

This is how it works. Most of these calls come from VOIP (Voice over Internet protocol). The numbers are auto dialed by a computer with spoof numbers that look like they are local with the same area code and even the same exchange( first 3 numbers) If you don't pick up and let it go to voicemail, the time it takes, for the voicemail to kick-in to the computer, it will hang up. Your number will now go into a sort of non-responsive list. It will not dial that number again. The more you answer, the more calls you will get.

Yes, if you let your assistant answer, you are now on a responsive list. That responsive list will now start sending you text messages, too.

Vicious circle!

I let everything go to Voicemail, if it is important, they will leave a voicemail. My Voicemail greeting clearly states that I screen my calls, I only answer my phone from contacts, and if it is important, please leave a voicemail, and I will get back to you promptly, Thank You for your understanding!

Works perfectly for me!

I never answer my calls either.. but #1 there's times where I'm expecting an important call - and it'll come through as private or number blocked from a doctor's office and they won't call back no matter what you put in your greeting. When I used a paid service, and when I had a Pixel phone the amount of calls dropped dramatically. Now that I'm back with Samsung it's almost daily I have calls again. Screening services DO work for the most part, and as far as text messages.. I don't allow any to come through that aren't in my contacts so not an issue there.

I have a Pixel and an S25U, I switch periodically between the two.

I never used screen my call, I did use hold for me, a lot. Also direct my call. Those are the 2 things I would to see Samsung add to their phones.

This!!
I miss those features. Hopefully the Pixel 10 will have a better processor and I'll move back to them since Samsung just refuses to have some things (not only I) want & miss.

The only thing that keeps me coming back to Samsung One Ui, I absolutely hate Pixel launcher. I like a minimalist look on my homescreen. I hate that you can't remove the At a Glanceand the Google search Bar. I have to use Nova Launcher on my Pixel so I can get it to look the way I want it. I want to be able to put widgets on my lockscreen and AOD.

Verizon catches most of them for me too.
