Samsung Apps and Services1. Ensure the Language is Enabled for Input:
* Go to Settings on your Samsung Galaxy.
* Scroll down and tap General management.
* Tap Samsung Keyboard settings. (If you're using a different keyboard like Gboard, tap its settings instead).
* Tap Languages and types.
* Tap Manage input languages.
* Make sure the toggle switch next to the language you want to use is turned on. If it's not downloaded, you'll need to download it first.
2. How to Switch Languages While Typing:
Once you have multiple languages enabled, you need to tell your keyboard which one to use. There are a couple of common ways to do this on the Samsung keyboard:
* Swipe the Spacebar: This is the most common and convenient method. When your keyboard is open, simply swipe left or right across the spacebar to cycle through your enabled languages. You'll usually see the language name on the spacebar change as you swipe.
* Tap the Globe/Language Key: Some Samsung keyboard layouts have a dedicated "globe" icon or a key that shows the current language (e.g., "EN" for English). Tapping this key will switch to the next enabled language. You might also be able to tap and hold this key to bring up a menu of available languages to choose from.
3. Check Predictive Text and Auto-Replace (if applicable):
If you're still seeing English, it's possible that predictive text or auto-replace is overriding your language selection.
* Go to Settings > General management > Samsung Keyboard settings.
* Look for options like "Predictive text" and "Auto replace."
* Tap on these and ensure that the settings for your new language are also enabled, or that they aren't configured to always default to English. Some users have found that "Multilanguage text prediction" needs to be on.
4. Reset Keyboard Settings (as a last resort):
If all else fails, you can try resetting your Samsung Keyboard settings. This will revert it to its default state, and you'll need to re-add your languages.
* Go to Settings > General management > Language and input > On-screen keyboard > Samsung keyboard.
* Look for an option to Reset settings.
In summary, the most likely issue is that you're not actively switching the input language on the keyboard itself. Try swiping the spacebar or looking for a globe/language key on your keyboard layout.

Samsung Apps and ServicesAfter one of the last updates since August 2025, my mother's Samsung keyboard now picks up English words for voice input when the Chinese keyboard is open. I've spent the last hour researching different ways to either turn off English voice input or turn on voice input switch using the space bar. None of that works anymore. What's the point of updating something that worked perfectly fine before? There are elderly people that suffers from these unnecessary updates.
