S24 Ultra YouTube background play not working

Hi!

Having a weird issue with YouTube on my s24 ultra. Firstly, the YouTube app has worked earlier just fine.

So the issue explained step by step:

- watching video 

- press home to minimize the YT app window

- press the headphones icon on the app to enable "just listen" mode (not sure what it's called)

- the video stops. No sound, nothing.

- open app and press play 

- minimize window and the same issue again 

I need to close the app by swiping it from running apps. Very annoying!

Tried uninstalling YT and all the usual. Nothing works.

Any suggestions what to do?

having it set to Headphones only will result in the video stopping completely when headphones aren't connected

That button won't temporarily turn background playback on, it'll still respect the option set in the background playback options

"Just listen mode" should keep the video running on the background but without any "stopping".  

To assist us in resolving this issue, we kindly ask you to submit an error report through the Samsung Members app on your device:

Also, please include the description that your youtube subscription is "premium" and "listen only mode" should be doable when screen is minimized. 

1. Open Samsung Members.
2. Navigate to One UI Beta Program > Beta Feedback.
3. Attach any relevant screenshots (if possible).
4. Ensure "Send system log data" is checked, then submit the report.

Important: Please submit the report within 15 minutes of reproducing the issue for accurate log data collection.
