I had been noticing an issue where the phone would just seemingly stop charging but the percentage wouldn't go down. A restart would fix it temporarily. Today I noticed that the phone would turn back on for a second and then turn immediately back off evern though there was plenty of battery. It eventually turned back on fine, until it stopped charging again and now it WILL NOT stay on. I can see the battery level is at like 60% and it immediately shuts down like I have no battery. I already sent my broken device back and am afraid I'll lose all my data if I factorty reset through recovery. I've already tried wiping the cache partition. And since this is a newer version of Android, I don't believe I can flash a previous version over it to downgrade. @USBetaModerator @USBetaModerator2 @USBetaModerator3 Please someone help me figure this out.

As I mentioned in your other post if you can keep it powered on long enough you can withdraw from the beta and then connect your phone to a PC with the USB cable and run smartswitch on the Computer and it will give you the option to downgrade back to UI7.  Did you make a backup of your device before joining the beta.

It will barely boot, half the time I can't even get my password pattern in before it shuts down. I don't remember if I had done a backup, but that's because I still have the previous device and used Smart Switch from that device. I sent that device back today.

Ok you will need to visit a service center to see if they are able to keep it powered on and downgrade it for you.

Hello,

We apologize for the inconvenience you've experienced in beta.

Since it would be difficult for you to submit an error report (Device turning off immediately), we recommend you to clear cache in recovery mode as below:

1. Power Off the Device:
Press and hold the Power button, then tap Power Off to turn off the device completely.

2. Boot into Recovery Mode:

Press and hold the Volume Up button and the Power/Bixby button simultaneously.

When the Samsung logo appears, release the buttons. The device will boot into Recovery Mode.

3. Navigate to "Wipe Cache Partition":

Use the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons to navigate through the Recovery Menu.

Highlight Wipe Cache Partition using the Volume Down button.

4. Confirm Cache Clearing:

Press the Power button to select "Wipe Cache Partition."

When prompted, highlight "Yes" using the Volume Down button and press Power to confirm.

5. Reboot the Device:

Once the cache partition is cleared, you’ll see a message indicating completion.

Highlight Reboot System Now and press the Power button to restart your device.

Regards,
One UI Beta Team

Questions

Update: the device in question was a refurbished one that was replacing the original one on a Samsung Care+ claim. The problem got worse and worse as time went on, I believe it was from poor quality parts from the refurbishment. They have sent another replacement and I'm in the process of setting it up now. This one has the IMEI printed on the backplate which leads me to believe it may not have ever been opened up. Fingers crossed that this one doesn't fritz out on me after a few days like the previous one.

That said, I had already tried all the troubleshooting steps above before the issues began worsening. Now the phone won't even turn on, plugged in or not. It won't even charge wirelessly. I'm glad that the Samsung Care+ team is taking care of this issue.

Thanks everyone!
