Anyone else missing the media player in the notifications bar? I hate having to swipe into quick panel instead of it just being there so I can scrub through the tracks, as someone who uses it constantly.
Hate to say it, but the final release for carriers has the same problem. I found a simple solution, that I'm truly hoping is only temporary.
It's the single biggest disappointment of this update, to have media separated on a different screen.
Here's the (hopefully only temporary fix til they let us choose again). There's so many settings it's going to give me a headache to write them nicely, really sorry, but what you do is set dual screen option, where notifications are separate from media/quick toggle buttons. Then, afterwards set it so you have pull down from anywhere for notifications, then after that, set it so on the right side, when you pull down it goes straight to the quick toggle/media screen (it's one of the options).
This means that essentially it's functioning like it was before, one swipe for media, one swipe for notifications, but you're forced to choose a side to swipe from for each on their own... not simply anywhere convenient for both at same time (even on official release). . Hope this helps those looking for some relief, really lame type of "upgrade" to limit our options like this but at least it's single swipe with these settings I described.
This new method is a disaster among screen reader users as well. Fully functional and easily accessible media controls is a must feature for me. I will sell my Samsung S23+ away and switch back to Xiaomi Poco phones because I need full service, not just horrible changes in visual world. One UI 7 is a terrible disappointment.
Not only is this a problem, but the media player even disappears in the quick panel after a minute. Forcing you to reppen the media app to get it to play again. Really hope they fix this sooner then later.
