QuestionsI work in the automotive industry and yesterday my phone accidentally fell into a 5 gallon bucket of motor oil and fully submerged it. It's still working! Please explain to me how it still works like it never even happened? I mean, it literally got all the way in the charging port and speaker, the only noticeable difference I can notice is the speaker sounds a little muffled but not bad. It baffles me so much because it should've died but didn't.

QuestionsBut the device is far more likely to be effectively ruined anyway. Yes, oil is far more viscous than water, but also motor oil does not dry out being exposed to the air and heat. In fact if not cleaned out somehow, over time it will turn into a thicker goo. That oil is situated in the charging port, buttons, speaker grills, etc with no way to clean them out effectively unless taken to a facility that works on smartphones (UBreakIFix for example) that maybe can clean it being exposed to oil submersion.
And it is not just the oil, that oil as described where it was located was old used oil, meaning it is full of loose particles, engine soot and harsh chemicals created from its use to keep the engine lubed. I don't know if other chemical were created during it use that could harm the surface of the device. So yeah it is correct that it is more difficult for it to penetrate because of it high viscosity, but also that means totally sticking to the object coated with the oil.

QuestionsWhy is this posted in the S25* UI 8 beta forums? Or is the title a typo, and it should be S25?
