My Samsung QLED TV is prompting me with this message, "Please go into service mode and setup below options. - Type, Local Set, Front Color Option"

I can't remember if this has been happening since I purchased the television or if it started after. I've had the tv since Aug/Sept 2023 with it now being May 2024, purchased as an "Open Box" from Best Buy.

The message prompt goes away after clicking okay and only prompts once when the television is restarted. It does not prompt again, during the same use, and doesn't change the functionality of the tv. The pop up's continued presence just leads me to believe it needs to be addressed and resolved, rather than continuing to be ignored.

Any help would be appreciated! I have not had any service calls or work done on the television. Currently have it hooked up via HDMI to an Apple TV box and that is it. Thanks!

As an "Open Box" product from BB it seems likely they used it as a demonstrator, and who knows if their local sales people or field/site techs might have tinkered with it.

You can either visit the BB store and ask "what'd you guys do to the TV I bought--can you help me un-do this?" and if they can't TELL YOU how to fix it maybe they'll send someone out for free.

Alternatively you can surf the internet for "how to enter service mode" for your particular model, though I for one would consult with BB before attempting that.

I dunno what "Type, Local Set, Front Color Option" might mean in re: using the set for a demo but any good Samsung tech should know.

Here's another discussion here about this, but it doesn't give a solution other than "call a tech". The 2nd link gives all manner of info, including a guy in "Comments" with your issue, but as you will see this is not for the faint-of-heart.

EDIT: Well, someone here restored my post, and since the above I have done more research and there's no way I could recommend to anyone to try the Service Menu themselves. Too risky i.e. many folks have bricked their sets.

Hello! Thank you for reaching out! If the information from the user @tomsframe does not help then this would be something that will require service. As we do not recommend going into the service menu either. For service you can use the link below as this is out of warranty due to be an open box model and can not speculate if the service menu was entered by the previous owner. Please use the link below to find a service enter in your area. You can also try going back to Best Buy if you prefer.
