I have a QN50 TV and when I plug my laptop into the HDMI port, I can get the picture but the sound is only a slight static or nothing. If I connect wirelessly via the windows CAST function, it works perfectly; however the picture is not as clear as with HDMI so I prefer that. I also tried the same laptop and cable with a slightly older Samsung TV and the HDMI sound also worked perfectly. There must be some setting on this QN50 that I am missing. Any help would be appreciated.
You hit it, except it required a different port on my laptop. When I tried a different HDMI as you suggested, I still heard no sound. Then I plugged the cable at the pc side into a different port and not it works. Thanks
