Hello! Thank you for reaching out! If you are missing the one connect box and it doesn't have the film on it this will be considered an open box model you will need to contact best buy to get further support.
Are you referring to the One connect box if you are then yes it has to be plugged into the TV

You should be able to connect to WiFi from your router once the one connect box is installed since that’s what supply all power to the tv display

The One connect box has to be connected to the tv since it’s what sends power to the display

I just bought a 4kQLed TV I didn't get a one connect box. I don't really understand what this box does or if it's included with purchase. I was able to set up TV. Please enlighten me. Also, I bought this a best buy took it out of box, there wasn't a screen protection film on it. Is that normal or should I be contacting Best Buy about this?
