I have a Microsoft Surface 7 Laptop with the Snapdragon X Elite in it and I cannot get to the 5120x1440 resolutions at. The highest 32:9 resolution I can get to is 3120x1080, 32 bit, 120 Hz as show by the GPU and Monitor properties and "List All Modes" dialog. Furthermore when I turn on HDR on the Windows Display settings, the G9 display goes blank and only the laptop display shows, however the displays reset every few seconds. This goes back to normal when I quickly turn off HDR before the display resets from the laptop display.

This monitor works great with my Intel NUC w/ Nvidia 2060 GPU and can hit the highest resolution and refresh rates with HDR with no problem.

I have tried updating the G9 monitor FW (M-9149GGAA-1002.0) to the latest from the support page along with installing the Samsung Monitor display drivers, which shows Generic Monitor (Odyssey G91SD) version 10.0.26100.4768 from Microsoft dated 6/21/2006. The GPU driver is also the latest from Qualcomm 31.0.112.0. Please let me know how to fix this.

I found the issue. You need to buy a DP cable that's capable of at least 8K 60 resolution to be able to get to that resolution. Better if it's 16K. I swapped mine and now it's detecting.

It's not a monitor problem.  The Microsoft support should be able to help you.

You need to look up the maximum DP V1.4 resolution for whichever Snapdragon X Elite CPU you're running.

Yes, this has been done. Max resolution as stated on Microsoft web page Supported external display resolution and refresh rates for Surface - Microsoft Support is 5120 x 2880 60Hz. Microsoft support can't figure it out either and, in the end, tried to reset the Windows install, which also did not help.

I recently purchased the Samsung Odyssey 57" Neo G9 and am encountering the same issue. I've connected it via Microsoft's Thunderbolt interface, which supports 5120x2880 at 60Hz. Could you clarify how this could be attributed to a Microsoft-related issue?
