TV does not recognize directv gemini air dongle

I have soundbar connected to HDMI 2 (eARC). I only have one other HDMI port. The port will recognize Amazon Fire stick but will not recognize the DTV dongle. I have contacted DTV. No help. I have tried using another DTV dongle with same result. I have connected said dongle to another Samsung TV and even a Samsung 24" monitor. It worked on those. I'm pretty certain it is not the dongle or the HDMI port that has an issue. Is there a certain setting that I am missing? Any help would be appreciated.

Sometimes the HDMI-CEC feature (called Anynet+ on Samsung TVs) can cause handshake or recognition issues with certain devices.
