LED and OLED TVsI can't belive my TV sparked out of the bottom left corner last night with a very loud popping noise. The breaker was not tripped, and a small dehumidifier plugged into the same outlet is working just fine. This TV is less than 4.5 months old. Clearly planned obsolescence on Samsung's part. I see other posts reporting the same issue. How dangerous to sell TV's that are known to emit sparks. I wouldn't be surprised if there will be a class action suit at some point.
It is a 43" NU6900 Smart 4K UHD TV purchased in August 2020.

LED and OLED TVsOh my! I'm glad no one was hurt when this happened. Can you send a private message to myself or any of the other mods with the full model code and serial number of the TV as well as a link to this post? We'd like to look into what accommodations we have available to you.

LED and OLED TVs@TVSparks Wow! Sorry that you experienced that. Just a comment, since you mention the dehumidifier not being affected. A dehumidifier does not have the sensitive electronics of a TV. A voltage spike capable of damaging a TV is not necessarily going to damage a dehumidifier.

LED and OLED TVsThanks for responding. There were no other signs of a power surge, and I doubt it would target just one outlet. I see other posts reporting this exact issue. Thank goodness mine didn't have sparks plus a fire. It appears to be a known issue that Samsung has not addressed.

LED and OLED TVsThe NU6900 is a 2018 TV, it is at least 6 years old. The pop is a punctured capacitor in the power supply, a standard fault.
