My UN60FH6200 Samsung LED Smart TV from 2012/2013 is long out of warranty and has a very old looking version of SmartHub that does not look nearly as slick or 3D as the current versions newer TVs. It also isn't compatible with some basic apps, like HBO Max.

Nevertheless, once per week or so it claims that it must update the software and I have to wait 2 or 3 or 5 minutes while it works on it.

But honestly, is Samsung actually still updating this software? Or is this just some kind of bug making it think it must update?

If these weekly updates for this old and out of warrantee TV aren't actually real and necessary, is there any way to get them to stop? Note that this TV does not have an "auto update" option to turn off (it is so old, SmartHub didn't have that option yet).

~6 years ago it used to update every single day, every time I tried to use it, but it isn't nearly that bad anymore. Still, even just once a week, I'd like to get rid of the annoyance if possible.

Thanks
