We recently replaced our Vizio TV (screen died) with a new Samsung U8000F TV. TV is conencted to Sony STR-DN1080 receiver using HDMI eARC. When digital audio is played back on STR from either local or network (DLNA) storage, the playback is pausing for 1s every 3-4s. Listening is of course not possible…
The problem occurs when Samsung TV is OFF. If TV is truned on (which is not needed for listening to the music) or HDMI eARC between TV and receiver is disconnected, the playback is normal.
This was not a problem with Vizio TV.
Any idea why is this happening? Any way to fix this? Software on both TV and STR is up to date.
