Kitchen and Family HubI have a Samsung rf260beaesr refrigerator/freezer with the ice bucket in the freezer drawer. I’ve had it for 5-6 years but never used the ice maker. I recently connected the water line to the cold water under the sink and woke up to a floor full of water. The water is flowing into the ice maker tray but not freezing. The water then dumps into the ice bucket and eventually overflowed. I took everything out of the freezer and thawed the freezer completely. The tried again once it was back to zero degrees. Same result except I caught it before it overflowed. I’ve pressed the reset and heard the ding-dong chime and it turns like it should just not freezing. Any idea what’s wrong?

Kitchen and Family HubIf you never used the ice maker, you have no idea if it was defective from the beginning. It could have become defective from non-use. You may need to replace the icemaker unit with a new one. It is also entirely possible that you did not connect the water line properly. If I am not mistaken, there is something like a flow stopper valve that prevents water from going to the ice maker chamber until the ice has dropped into the bucket.

Kitchen and Family Hub@Sharrisjr There is something wrong with your ice maker. The water should come in and fill the ice cube block and stop filling. Then after the water is frozen (hours later), the ice cubes are ejected into the bin.
It sounds like your refrigerator is not detecting water has filled the ice cube block. OR there is a leak in the water line before the ice cube block.
Either way, I would recommend setting up a service call.
