HAF-QIN Refrigerator Water Filter only lasted 2 months

I order a two pack from the website to hopefully cover us for about a year (6 months each), but it's been only 2 months since replacement and the Filter light is already on.

I saw one review similar to my situation on the product webpage (https://www.samsung.com/us/home-appliances/home-appliances-accessories/refrigerators/haf-qin-refrige...) and Samsung's reply that filters may not last as long based on water quality in my area. However, the filter that came with the fridge lasted at least 6 months if not more.

At ~$50 per filter, having to replace 6x a year vs 2x is kind of lame. Anyone have a similar experience or any suggestions?

Filter life depends on a) how much water flows through the filter (includes ice making), and b) how unclean your water is. On the up side, Amazon sells quite a few replacement brands that are equivalent and 1/3 to 1/2 the price.

Personally, I have used the Waterdrop filters for years without a single problem.
