Kitchen and Family HubI have the dishwasher model DW80CG5020SRAA. A month ago the dishwasher started randomly stopping and chiming randomly with a 1 flashing on the screen and a clicking sound coming from the lower left of the door. I thought it was an issue with the door latch so I replaced it with a new one Samsung part number DD34-00007A. The door closes fine, but now if I select a cycle, press start and close the door, it chimes once and the display flashes the wash time as it does nothing else. On the Smart Things app it shows it is paused. I have tried to leave it unplugged for 30 mins but that did nothing. Went through a number of searches for alternate methods of resetting, but it seems I am only resetting the WIFI connection. Any suggestions?

Kitchen and Family HubThis is what Google says and since you've already changed the latch the other issue could be a glitch with the control board. Its recommended to contact a Service center for help with this issue.
https://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/locations/
- Check the Door Latch: Make sure nothing is blocking the door from closing completely. The door latch must engage securely for the dishwasher to start.
- Perform a Hard Reset:
- Unplug the dishwasher from the power outlet.
- Wait for 5-10 minutes to allow the internal systems to reset.
- Plug the dishwasher back in or turn the power on at the circuit breaker.
- Try to Start the Cycle: Once the power is restored, try to run a cycle again to see if the A1 error has been cleared.
- Door Switch: The A1 error could be caused by a faulty door switch or a problem with the wiring connections near the latch.
- Control Board: A more serious issue could be a faulty control board, which may require replacement.
- Contact Service: If the reset and door checks don't resolve the A1 error, contact Samsung service or a qualified appliance technician for further assistance.

Kitchen and Family HubI appreciate the response but I believe your confusing what I explained. It was showing a number 1 on the display and chiming, not A1. It no longer does that after I changed the latch. Now if i power it on, select a cycle which shows the timer on the display, if i select start and close the door it chimes once and the display flashes the time and does nothing more. Not sure if that points to anything else to troubleshoot. I cant seem to find anything related by googling. Its a shame given this dishwasher is a year and a half old

Kitchen and Family HubOk, Yeah I was taking it as a1 from your post. So far I've seen the 1 will flash and beep if any of these issues occur.
- The door latch is not fully closed: The dishwasher will not run if the door latch is not properly engaged. Make sure the door is completely closed and latched. Inspect the latch assembly for any damage or misalignment.
- The filter is clogged: Some models may flash a "1" or "1E" for a clogged filter. You should clean the fine filter at the bottom of the dishwasher at least once a month for optimal performance.
- Open the door and remove the bottom rack.
- Remove the micro filter by rotating the handle counterclockwise.
- Clean the filter and its compartment of any debris.
- Reinstall the micro filter and lock the handle by turning it clockwise.
- The control board has a glitch: If the blinking continues after checking the other possibilities, try resetting the dishwasher by unplugging it for 5 minutes. This can clear a temporary error with the control board.
- Call for service: If the problem persists after following these steps, there may be a faulty sensor or control board, and you should contact Samsung for service.

Kitchen and Family HubThanks for the follow up, but the suggested troubleshooting steps I have already attempted. My wife had removed the filter basket etc from the bottom. I thought that was the issue initially and put them back in place, though it changed nothing. Killing the power at the breaker for awhile didn't help either. I have googled for a few days and checked with AI which suggested a number of button combinations to reset it, which were pretty much all wrong. Figured I would post here in case by some miracle someone had something solid on this issue. Either way, thanks for the information.

Kitchen and Family HubIt sounds like the dishwasher still thinks the door isn’t fully closed, even though you’ve already replaced the latch. The flashing “1” and the SmartThings app showing it as paused usually point to the control not registering the door switch properly. Sometimes the latch isn’t seated perfectly or the wiring harness is a little loose, so it’s worth checking the fit and connections again.
You could also try flipping the breaker for 5–10 minutes instead of just unplugging, since that often clears errors more effectively. If the clicking you hear near the lower left is caused by moisture or debris around the switch area, giving it a close inspection might help. If none of that makes a difference, the issue may be with the control board not recognizing the latch signal, and at that point a service call would probably be the best next step.

Kitchen and Family HubJust to recap, I did try killing the power from the breaker in the garage, which was powered off for a couple of days, due to my forgetting it was off. Here is a short of what it was doing before I replaced the latch, sound up https://www.youtube.com/shorts/xETOzl_GmQI the after changing the latch https://www.youtube.com/shorts/9vkaHgNOSCQ . Checked the filter, checked connections, nothing obvious. I doubt at this point moisture is an issue as the dishwasher has now been down for over a month. If its a control board that should'nt been very difficult as I had the front panel apart to replace the latch. I put off having a tech come out as my schedule has not permitted. I will accept any other suggestions in the meantime.
