Kitchen and Family HubSince one and 3/4 cups of water is 14 ounces, my guess is that is the maximum allowable amount, but that only using 10 ounces will give you the best results. Unless you are misreading 1 1/4 cups as 1 3/4 cups - or it's a typo.
