Home TheaterSince the update, the soundbar is unresponsive and can't be reset.
Seems like quite a few people with the issue

Home TheaterMy Q990D was noticed to be unresponsive (Bricked) and could not be discovered through any wired/wireless connection. It has been returned to a service centre and I have been updated to let me know that parts have been ordered to repair it. It seems it can not be fixed remotely once it can no longer be discovered via the smartthings app through the wifi connection.

Home TheaterI am waiting for my Q990D to be collected tomorrow with same fault as everyone else on forum it is 5 months old. I hope they can access the PCB fairly quickly, if it is going to be a very prolonged repair, then I shall use the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and demand that the retailer I bought from either ensures that the repair is done in a reasonable time as the Act requires, replace the product or give me a full refund. This is our right under the 2015 Act in the UK.

Home TheaterYup, same issue here. It was working fine...until the update. I did the the Samsung "Cares" text help with no result. I just set mine up after wall mounting my new 75" QN800C so it was only up and running for a bit over a month. They said to return it to the place in NJ for repair. I still had the original box/packaging so I carefully boxed it up....everything but the power cords and remotes as per the instructions from the Techeim outfit. They received it on March 14th.
I received an update from them saying there's a scratch on the front of the unit....which there wasn't went I packed it up. I knew this was going to happen...send in my pretty much brand new unit for a repair needlessly caused by Samsung, and now I'll get it back damaged by them. So goes it for my new soundbar!! Great job Samsung!! I should have just kept my13 year old Panasonic Plasma TV and Yamaha Soundbar system. No problems with either over all the time I had them. At this point, I'll never recommend Samsung to anyone!
UPDATE March 17th. Just received a text stating that the soundbar has been repaired and is being shipped via UPS back to me. According to the repair statement...Techeim found "Stuck on "TV-eARC" mode" issue. Quality test passed after Defective part ( main-pcb) replacement." They also id a Firmware version check and performed a factory reset. I'm hoping that somehow it's not damaged as described in the e-mail I received!! It should make it back to me by Wednesday since I'm in PA and the Techeim place is in NJ. This was done under the factory warranty with no cost....just the pain in the ____ to box it up and take it to be shipped.
UPDATE.....I received my soundbar back today in the AM....(3-18). It was a quick turnaround...less then a week. They replaced (ASSY PCB MAIN), saying it was "defective"? It was fine until the update! The original box I sent it in, along with all the packing material, came back enclosed in a bigger overbox. The original box was all beat up and all the Styrofoam packing was broken up. The soundbar and all the speakers looked fine and there was no damage even though the e-mail I received said the front was scratched? I have yet to turn it on and see if it works...probably tonight. There was a sticker applied on the back of the soundbar that showed WPA1954 and 03/14/2025 YES? I think I'm going to shut-off the auto updates if I can!!

Home TheaterI received my soundbar in less than a week. There was no visible damage to the unit externally, even though I received an e-mail from the service center, so I was happy about that. The unit was shipped in another box over the original box. Unfortunately most of the original styrofoam packing was broken up so hopefully I won't be needing to ship this unit again.
The unit itself seems to be working as it did before the update. I'm still working through the settings but I'm still not that impressed with it compared to my 12 year old, and at the time the top end, Yamaha sound bar!!
