Samsung Q990D unresponsive after 1020 firmware update

Since the update, the soundbar is unresponsive and can't be reset.

Seems like quite a few people with the issue

I have a 930d and Smart Things says 1016 is the latest firmware. They must have removed 1020 or it was never available for this model. I dodged a bullet, it seems.

It was available because it unfortunately killed my Q930D 😕

The same thing happened to me.  Working fine then turned into a VERY expensive brick!

Not quite sure how they’ll push an automatic update to fix it when it doesn’t see the internet connection

You can update it with a USB flash drive.

I think the problem is that the change prevents USB updating. Other people have tried to do it and it does not work

I don't think the soundbar updates if it's the same firmware version (for those trying USB method). Samsung would have to issue a new firmware version for us to see if it works or not

Same here Q990D stuck on HDMI 1 , does not connect to the wifi and will not pass an HDMI signal.  😞

do i try to send it in? is there any way they can fix this with an “update” ? what do we do? 

wish they could send someone to ME to fix and not have to send it in the mail
