Audio drops every minute or so

I'm experiencing intermittent audio dropouts (approximately 0.3–0.5 seconds) when using eARC to transmit Dolby Digital 5.1 audio from my Xbox Series X to my Denon AVR-S570BT receiver through my Samsung Q80B TV. The issue persists despite configuring the following settings:

 

TV Settings:

 

HDMI-eARC Mode: Auto

 

Digital Output Audio Format: Pass-through

 

Dolby Atmos Compatibility: Off

 

 

Xbox Series X Settings:

 

HDMI Audio Output: Dolby Digital

 

 

Denon AVR-S570BT Settings:

 

Input Mode: Digital

 

Audio Format: Dolby Digital

 

 

 

All HDMI cables are certified and of appropriate length (6.6 ft), and the dropouts occur across different content sources. The brief interruptions are noticeable and disrupt the viewing experience.

 

Has anyone else encountered similar issues with the Samsung Q80B's eARC functionality? Any guidance or workarounds would be appreciated.

To help determine whether the sound issue is coming from your TV or an external device, we recommend running the built-in Sound Test. Here's how:

Go to:
Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Sound Test

If the audio drops or sounds abnormal during the test, it's likely an issue with the TV itself and may require service. If the sound is fine during the test, the problem could be related to a connected external device or cable.

That short loop that fades out then breaks and then only loops once isn't overly useful in trying to test for an occurrence that happens once every minute or two. Even if it was a continuous looping sound with no breaks (which it should be), it's not going to test for how the tv is handling pass through audio. I've just used a second set of new cables (certified hdmi dot org) from a different set of alternate manufacturer made ones to troubleshoot.

I also tend to lean to its probably the tv, as it already mimics screen burn with its screen retention issue, and the far too many steps needed to change input/source. It's poorly designed interface and screen retention scream poor quality components and inferior engineering. This has been the worst thousand dollars I've ever spent. I can't afford to replace it, so I'm desperately just trying to make it functional.
