I was swimming with my watch a couple of days ago to track my workout; all was fine. I'm a surface-level swimmer—I don't go deep because I have sensitive ears, so it wasn't like it underwent crazy pressure. But I've just realized today that when I was playing music, it was crackling like crazy! Particularly, lower notes sounded distorted (obviously exaggerating a little, but the point is, it was very rough). I don't need my watch to make noises; I rarely play music unless I'm biking in the woods or when I'm calling. But if I were ever in an emergency and could only use my watch for whatever reason, I wouldn't be able to hear any directions.

Is there any deep water removal I could do, or should I get it repaired? Should I take it apart? Would that ruin the water resistance?

Thanks in advance!

Did you turn the water lock on and off when you went swimming? Turning the water lock off would have blown out any water from the speakers. Try turning water lock on and then off and seeing if that clears it up. If it doesn't you will have to take it for servicing. Be aware, though, that it probably will not be a covered warranty repair.

I'm really consistent on locking it before, and doing the lock on and off several times afterwards to clear it up as much as possible.

Funnily enough, I just tried playing music with it and it sounds perfectly fine??? I mean I won't complain. But how odd!

It may have dried out on its own. Just FYI turning the seim workout on automatically turns the water lock on.
