Do you have always on, or keep screen on during workouts? Two different things. You can't swim and look at the screen anyway, and the split vibration and audio guide will tell you what you need. Anyway, go yo the workout settings on the watch and choose keep screen on during workouts.

I’ve had the same issue with my Galaxy Watch 6—if my watch isn’t set to “Always On” at the system level, then even if I enable “Keep screen on during workouts” in the swim app, the screen still turns off during my swim.

What worked for me was making sure both settings are on:

Watch display is set to Always On

Swim workout app is set to Keep screen on during workouts

Once I did that, the screen stayed on as expected. I was worried it would drain the battery quickly, but surprisingly, it hasn't been a problem at all.

Also, I do find it helpful to glance at my watch mid-swim—when I push off the wall, I just rotate my wrist and can read it clearly. Personally, the split vibration and audio guide aren’t that useful for the types of workouts I do, so having the screen visible makes a big difference.

Hope this helps someone!

I swim in bright sunlight and wear tinted goggles, so I can't see the watch face anyway.  There would be no point in my keeping the screen on during my workout.  I swim by time and only time and the buzzes let me know how much time has passed.  Your suggestion will help some people, though.  Good workaround.
