Howdy,

Just reporting that since the last Galaxy Watch update (which I installed on Jan 23, 2025), my watch doesn't send me any notifications. The watch still receives them, but it doesn't vibrate to let me know.

I've tried so many things to fix it:

  • ensured DND, sleep/theater mode are off
  • changed my watch to silent, sound, and back to vibrate
  • started with restarts for both my watch and phone
  • disconnected and reconnected Bluetooth
  • unpaired/forgot device, re-paired
  • went through all notification settings in both watch settings/phone settings/wearable app, they're all enabled, which I tried turning off and on again

At this point, I got in contact with Samsung tech support, who told me to do all the things I already did above. They then suggested I do the following:

  • Ensure that both your phone and watch are updated to the latest version of their respective operating systems.
  • Check if the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone is up to date.
  • Restart both your phone and watch.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone.
  • Reset your watch to factory settings. This will erase all data stored on the watch, so make sure to back up important files before proceeding.
  • If the issue persists, consider contacting Samsung Support for further assistance (which is what I was already doing??)

When I uninstalled and reinstalled the Wearable app, things got even worse and more messy. My watch wouldn't reconnect to my phone, it refused to pair. This is where I had to factory reset my watch. I was nervous to do this but I didn't have any other choice, thankfully I did have my data backed up (you can find this in the wearable app under watch settings > accounts and backup).

Alas, even after factory resetting and successfully repairing and setting up the device, I still do not receive notifications.

My tech support was pretty useless, told me I can buy a whole new watch and phone and that might fix the problem ヽ(`Д´)ノ

So, I'm waiting on other people to help troubleshoot this issue and hopefully figure out what's causing it. OR, HOPEFULLY, Samsung will fix this issue asap. I'm gonna be real upset if this "update" permanently breaks my watch that's about 1.5 years old.

Have you tried changing the vibration pattern?  On the watch, go to settings, sounds and vibration, and then select the vibration pattern and intensity for notifications.  See if that helps. If necessary, you can try turning the sound on to the minimum volume you can hear. I know this is not a fix, but it can be a workaround until the next update that will maybe fix it.

This worked!!!!!

You're my savior_| ̄|○

I went and changed the vibration patterns and switched my watch to sound mode w/ vibrate on. I got a few sound notifications and that was exciting! Then I changed it to vibrate and now they work again :)))

Thank you
