Afternoon guys,
Is it possible to show how many miles walked on galaxy 8 watch, I know I can see the steps walked but not miles, I have just come across from the Fitbit Charge 6 where it shows steps and distance walked?
Kind Regards

Galaxy WatchIf you go to the health app and tap on the daily activity tile it will show you distance while active.

Galaxy WatchStride length is absolutely relevant and they base distance and step count on the average stride length of the population. GPS data does not come into play unless there is an exercise in progress. People walk many steps over the course of the day, in their offices, in their homes, in the supermarket, subway, etc. GPS has no way of calculating that. Also, the watch is not a pedometer, it counts steps based on arm movement. If you do not move the arm with the watch while walking (i.e. pushing a stroller or shopping cart), you will not get your steps counted. Conversely, if you happen to move your arms a lot in a walking like motion, it will count it as steps - this is how people cheat at the step challenges. The phone, however, is a more accurate indicator of step count, as it actually *does* use a combination of GPS (outdoors) and hip movement (if in your pocket or purse). The data should sync in the health app, but if you are not carrying your phone while taking steps and only wearing your watch, the step count will likely be inaccurate.
