IFIT and samsung watch 7 stuck on start machine

IFIT, treadmill, and Samsung Galaxy Watch 7: nonstop ads from IFIT about how it should work and connect my watch to my IFIT, but it's stuck on "start machine" even when the workout has started.

Mine worked the first time I installed the app on my Galaxy Watch Ultra, but has not worked since. Each time I open it, I receive the message "Start a workout on machine". When I start a workout, it changes to "Looks like you are working out, press CONNECT". I press the connect button repeatedly, but nothing happens. I have tried restarting the watch, uninstalling and reinstalling the app from my phone and watch, and ensuring all three are on the same wifi network. Nothing works and I have all but given up on trying to make it work.
