Home button isn't working, only charges to 46% and Wear app connects but doesn't have many options

my home button isn't responding. The Galaxy Watch Active2 has worked great for a while. Just noticed it was vibrating constantly, so I put it on a charger overnight and it got hot. I then shutdown the watch and tried again to charge it and it overheated again, it only charges to 46%. I can connect to it via S21 Wear app but most of the options are greyed out or no longer choose'able. I see options for Notifications, SOS, Find my watch, Account and backup. It's model is SM-R820.

Just to verify, have you tried resetting the watch? https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00084702/ If the watch is still experiencing issues after resetting it, or you are unable to reset it, service would be recommended.
