Galaxy Watch

2nd galaxy watch 4 has just died due to "water damage" went in the bath, a bath!! (Fresh water and certainly within the conditions samsung "apparently" test water ratings for and cold!!!). After about 10 secs I relaised I had my galaxy watch on still and forgotten to take it off. Shpuld have known seeind as my last one had died from water damage after taking a shower!. Immediately I took it off and dried it, 5 seconds after it vibrated and the screen went black. Battery only just fully chardged and at about 80% when this happened, will bow not turn on or charge despie beting in 30° heat in a bag of silica gel!!!

People I have only one bit of advise! Do not ever buy a samsung galaxy watch and believe theor clearly markwting **bleep** claims of any water protection!! It is pure lies end of and I will use my marketing skills to make sure that samsung are exposed for their shady practices!!

Im happy to buy a watch that says clearly it has no water protection but dont try and sell and advertise a  a watch as having any form of IP rating that can never replicated outside of a made up labaoratory, or even worse one that says you can use xyz for and once you do youre left with a several hundred pounds paperweight.

I know this is pointless post as samsung will never accept responosbility or any form of culpability or fix my watch, only continue with their false marketing claims designed to lure people away from prosucts that genuinely do what they say. I have always championed Samsungs phones and watch tech. No longer! If youre going to get a "smart watch" (dumb in this case) buy Apple or any other brand! Samsung just lost a 20 year or so customer not that they give 2 hoots!

DO NOT BUY A GALAXY WATCH! yes, they look good, have good other functions and from iniial impressions great buld quality. but very sadly everything from IP ratings to battery life are really just false and manipulated claims to their advantage hidden behind tests that can never replicated or disputed the real world! All designed with the deliberate intention to fool you over other genuine products that 'do what they say on the tin' and part with money to line the shareholders pockets. Well enjoy your bubbly, im pulling out samsung stocks and binning my watch and phone! Id rather use my nokia 6230 and the £1 watch that I got from pouland that says not waterproof yet is still going after simming in the sea and pools!

Maybe it's luck but when my daughter was younger I would always take my galaxy watch 4 off and throw it in the tub. she was always fascinated by way the sensor looked when it flashed the light while at the bottom of a bubble bath. Never had an issue.

Yep, I fully believe it is a luck factor. Mine died with very little water exposure, zero submersions. I got unlucky that mine apparently had some sort of defect while others can fully swim, bathe, etc with theirs with no ill effects.
