The usual practice with a watch trade in is to put the returning watch in the box the new one came in and send it in with the return label. Surprise! The watch 7 doesn't fit into the packaging the watch 8 comes in. They're a different shape. So be advised that some surgery is required for the watch7 to fit into the shell for the watch8.
You can use any box to ship your trade-in back, but it’s not mandatory to use the one your new device came in. I’ve never used the same box repeatedly. All you need to do is attach the return label to any box and ship it back at FedEx Ship Center. However, as a precaution, always take videos and pictures of the device both on and off.
