I am seeking immediate guidance on how to disable and remove the call recording feature and its associated icon from the call screen on my Samsung S25+. Despite claims that the Auto Record function can be turned off, the app provides no such option. I visited a Corporate Provider store for assistance, but they were unable to remove the feature.

Please note that in my state, recording phone calls without the other party’s verbal and/or written consent is illegal. The lack of a clear opt-out mechanism for this feature raises serious legal and privacy concerns. If a solution is not provided promptly, I will have no choice but to escalate this matter to my state’s Attorney General for further action.

I appreciate your immediate attention to this issue.

Oh my, looks like Samsung has just took the privacy out of using mobile phones. Even the camera it has to have the nearby devices permission on to work. That's not cool. I'm not doing a video call at the moment i can turn it on when i do. Sorry you're dealing with your issue. I too know how it feels.

They did not take the privacy out of your phone.  As explained many posts up, the nearby devices permission is to allow you to share or transfer your photos to other devices *you* own or have specifically allowed to share with in your share settings.  It does *not* go looking for random devices, nor will it allow random devices to find yours to compromise it.  People who do not understand tech or take the time to understand tech, should not use tech.  It is the year 2025 of the 21st century, everyone should be tech savvy by now.

P.S. if you have *any* connected device, mobile or not, your privacy went out the window when you connected to the internet or mobile network.  Most likely they made it a mandatory permission in the camera, because many people kept putting in error reports when they couldn't share, only to find out that the permission was not enabled.

Also, the original post is about the call recording feature, you should have made your own post.

For some reason when the update came out a few months ago I noticed the car recording as well on my phone dialer but I noticed also that the only way it records is if you press on it to record a call also I don't believe the other person on the other line can hear it when you record a call, because I was having issues with a customer service reps from a certain company and each rep is giving me a different answer so I decided to record the call and I don't even think they heard the little thing that says this call is being recorded but yeah I don't like it neither, and there should be a way when there are new features added to an update we should either be able to install it or not install it, I just don't think that every update that comes out and has new features should not just be put on our phones we should be able to choose and pick what features we want to use on our phone that's just my opinion. I'm not all for the new AI stuff I don't trust it very much and yes I probably shouldn't be using a phone couldn't fortunately there's no way to get a hold of anybody these days cuz it's hard to even get a landline phone anymore and if you do it so much more expensive so I'm at the point where I'm going to probably do away with Android phones/ iPhones I just want a phone where I can make calls maybe send a few text messages and take a few pictures but far is all this other stuff that gets added on to our phones and we can't disable it or take it off it's ridiculous.

Where can I get the recordings of telephone calls? How long are these recordings kept. Hypothetical question, let's say a customer is being harassed. Would they (customer) be able to get a copy of the phone call? If I install phone by google, does the Samsung dialer immediately disappear? Thanks.

The recordings are kept in the sound recorder app.  You can find them by opening the sound recorder or by going to the file manager and going to the "recordings" folder.  There you will find two sub folders "call" (where your call recordings are kept) and "voice recorder" (where your voice recordings are kept). The recordings are kept however long you choose to keep them.  They do not auto delete, but you can tap on "delete recordings" older than one month, 3 months or 6 months, if you choose to without having to go through every recording. You can delete any individual recording at any time through either the file manager or the voice recorder app.  As I said, YOU are in complete control of your recordings - whether to record at all and how long to keep them. You may come to wish, at some point, you recorded that last phone conversation with your dad, just so you can hear his voice.

If  you are being harassed, the recordings are in your possession (if you are the recorder) to keep as proof.  If you install Phone by Google, the Samsung Dialer stays on your phone, and you can switch back at any time.  You would just select either one as your default dialer and move its icon into the location you usually keep it for easy access.
