I am seeking immediate guidance on how to disable and remove the call recording feature and its associated icon from the call screen on my Samsung S25+. Despite claims that the Auto Record function can be turned off, the app provides no such option. I visited a Corporate Provider store for assistance, but they were unable to remove the feature.

Please note that in my state, recording phone calls without the other party’s verbal and/or written consent is illegal. The lack of a clear opt-out mechanism for this feature raises serious legal and privacy concerns. If a solution is not provided promptly, I will have no choice but to escalate this matter to my state’s Attorney General for further action.

I appreciate your immediate attention to this issue.

If it's illegal to record you without your consent then why does it tell you it's going to record even if you opt out? Google has been recording/listening to us for years. Way before Facebook spied on us

Two party consent is only required in a handful of states, all others only require one party consent.  The recording is to warn the other party that the call is being recorded to afford them the opportunity to hang up (opt out), and to comply with laws in the states that *do* have two party consent in case one party is in a state with those laws.  It is actually not illegal, it's just not admissible for legal evidence of any kind, and someone can sue you for recording them without their knowledge.  It's more a civil than criminal offense.

Where is your proof of Google recording/listening to us for years?  When you own electronic communications devices of any kind, that is the risk you take.  You know who has been listening and recording  you for years? The NSA.  The right to privacy is something that voters gave up after 9/11 with the creation of DoHS by voting for the entities that put it in place.

People were warned this would happen if they gave up their rights. There were huge campaigns against it.

I'm stoked! People should not indulge in certain activities before trying to converse about knowledge they don't know anything about ... Sorry man!

You said if you were in a conference call, you would already assume it was being recorded, but by someone in the conference, though. Not by a third party who is not in the conversation and who is not directly affected by the outcome of, or the conclusion of that conversation. What's the point? Why do they have the right to record it? It should then be asked again if it's ok or not to record it. We should be able to hit a button or something there in effect, to block anyone from our conference, recording or not! I mean, if I use some words I don't usually use and Google wants to learn me how to say them, that's fine, just not during this particular conversation. Instead, they don't even give us the choice of deciding on a one-at-a-time basis, they get you to decide on all future conversations up front, not knowing what the conversation will even consist of or whom it will be with. I don't mind recording a conversation between my friends, family, and me, but in a private conversation between my lawyer and me, I would like to be able to prevent that recording from taking place. I currently don't have that option

What 3rd party are you referring to? The only party that has access to the recording is the one who is doing the recording. In this case, you. Neither Samsung nor Google have access to it, the recording originates, is triggered, and resides in your phone.

You certainly have the option to not record any conversation, just don't push the record button.  As for a conversation with your lawyer, why wouldn't you want to record it?  That seems like something you'd like to have for review to make sure you understood/heard everything that was being said.  Once again, it only records if you press the record button, and YOU have control of the resulting recording. How do you know your lawyer is not recording you, especially if you are in a one party consent state? Ethically, they should inform you, but in many law offices conversations are routinely recorded. Lawyers need to review things, too.

Well, first of all, I respect your knowledge of the subject. I, myself am ignorant of the language of Law. I live in Nebraska and I think, let's say it was a conference call, and 5 people are participating in this group meeting. Each person will have to give their consent for Google to record, or whoever is letting it be known that the call is being recorded. Then the individual, like you said, can opt out of the call. Google Gemini sent me a "terms and privacy statement " and I read it, they came right out and said it. So, by choosing to opt out, knowing they will still make recordings, by clicking here and agreeing to that basically gave them the authority to do so. Now, please answer this- The 5-person conference call had nothing to do with any business with Google, and we don't call Google or vice versa , they don't let us know if they are recording or not, they already have your permission if you have Google on your phone. You have to check one of the boxes, it won't let you continue unless you decide, "In or Out". Should a third party have that authority or should I have my "Right to Privacy "?

If I'm on a conference call, I automatically assume it's being recorded, whether I know it or not. Like freedom of speech, many people misunderstand the right to privacy. The right to privacy, as enshrined in the Constitution, is against government intrusion, not the actions of other citizens.

I'm just saying that Google has been pushing the limits on infringing on people's rights and quietly getting away with it. Mostly, by the way they word the permissions, terms and conditions. It seems they want to know more than they need to know. Google is government

If the judges on the Supreme Court have a conference meeting before deciding on an important case, and they are using equipment with Google Services, Google is the first to know, before the gavel is dropped
