My phone overheats at times so just put it in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes and it operates better. This is also a sign I need to get another phone I have s20 fe

@Holdens Did you wipe the device cache partition after the update? I recommend that you do this after every device update. It wipes out incompatible or outdated cache information which might be incompatible after the update. It does not erase any user data nor applications.

To wipe the device cache partition:

1. Power off your device.
2. Power up while holding down the Volume up key and the Side key until the Samsung logo appears.
3. An Android recovery menu will appear.
4. Use the Volume down key to scroll down to Wipe cache partition.
5. Click the side key to select it.
6. Use the Volume down key to scroll down to Yes.
7. Click the side key to select it. The Cache will be wiped almost instantaneously.
8. Click the side key to select "Reboot system now"

Limit your apps coming in and make sure to update your phone every 3 days

And make sure you do not have any updates every 3 to 4 days to limit it from getting hot and never try to play games while the phone is plugged up

Is the device actually overheating, as in shutting itself off to protect itself, or is it just feeling warmer than usual? Your phone has built in overheating protection and the device will shut off if too high of a temp is detected.

After a major update, additional background processes related to the update can temporarily cause the device to run hotter than usual.

In addition to @LongHiker's advice to clear device cache, you can download Good Guardians and use Thermal Guardian to monitor device temp and identity the cause of the heating.

Download here: https://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.android.samsung.utilityapp

If the device is actually overheating and consistently shuts itself off, you may consider visiting a certified Samsung repair center to fully diagnose the issue and have any required repairs completed by a certified technician.
