The step counter home screen widget for Samsung Health doesn't have step counter, it is set to 0. Not just the widget but also, some parts of the app even show 0

Solved: the app needs an update, this fixed it.

Verify the Step Data Source

Open Samsung Health: Navigate to and open the Samsung Health app on your phone.

Go to the Steps tracker: On the Home tab, tap the Steps tracker widget.

Select step data: Tap the three vertical dots (More options) and then select Select step data to show.

Choose "All steps": Make sure "All steps" is selected. This ensures your phone counts steps and syncs with any connected wearables, like a Galaxy Watch, rather than only showing data from one specific device.

Troubleshooting Steps

Restart your device:A simple restart of your Samsung Galaxy S25 can often resolve temporary glitches.

Check app permissions:Ensure Samsung Health has all the necessary permissions, especially location permission, for accurate tracking.

Update Samsung Health:Check for and install any available updates for the Samsung Health app from the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store.

Check Auto-Detect Workouts:In Samsung Health, you can go to Settings and toggle on "Auto-detect workouts" to automatically recognize and track activities like walking.

Clear Cache:If the issue continues, you can try clearing the cache of the Samsung Health app by going to App Info in your phone's settings.

View your step
