Every since the update, my memory went from 4.8gb-7gb usage (highest to lowest usage)to 1.2gb-4gb usage constant. The battery dies way too fast because of it. I even put some apps to sleep but no difference. They really need to fix ram issue. It's insane, no update had ever had this problem in any of my s series.

@DarkResulNaki RAM is not like Storage. You want to use RAM. Having items in RAM makes things faster and uses less energy because things don't have to be fetched from storage.

I know that. It doesn't still explain going from using 5-7gb to 8-9 constantly

You could use the Memory Guardian module of Samsungโ€™s Good Guardians app to see which apps are using RAM.

your 1oo correct its the ram issue since ui 8.0 my s 24 ultra does the same mines a 1 tb storage from samsung unlocked for world use but this hopefully fixed with October update not yet gotten samsung is lagging as usual also the google meet app looses audio too I fixed that uninstall updates and reinstall done but my battery seems fine just less ram at 8 gb ram setting foes to 3.7 I used 12 same goes to 5.6 ... so this hope to be fixed but I was able to root with odin tool to 14 ui 6.1 march 2025 update a friend of mine did that so im staying there for now till the new ui 8 get settled. otherwise my s 24 ultra is solid as a rock no issues thanks samsung for that for a s 24 ultra well made

Didn't do anything. I even wiped cache partition. This is the first update in long line of S series that used more than 75 percent of RAM constantly, even on idle

How many apps are running in the background, even when not in use? That is one of a few main problems with the battery draining quickly. The others are the app types. Social media apps like Facebook, Instagram just sitting in the background will keep updating through telematics and they are particularly insidious in tracking (as is Google), that is besides when actively using them.

Aside from what @LongHiker suggested with Memory Guardian, open the Device Care app, then diagnostics, then open "App battery usage diagnostics" and see what that provides.

I'll try memory guardian. Like I've mentioned, this has never happened before, even with all the social media apps running in the meeting. Even when i clear memory to eliminate background processes, it still stays on high ram usage, like at least 2gb higher compared to before. It's definitely an update issue. It's either not eliminating processes like it used to, or something is stuck in the background that's eating battery and hogging memory.

You see, even if i clear it multiple times, they keep running. And yes, they didn't run before when i cleared the memory. So whatever this update did, is not fully stopping background processes 1758892805324.jpg
