New S25 Ultra - Notifications not working

Howdy!

Received my new S25 Ultra yesterday, set it up via SmartSwitch. Everything transferred correctly but none of my notifications are working. 

Zero.

I have gone though forum postings that other people have posted looking for solutions and most of those has been DND or a routine turned on blocking notifications. 

Things I've checked:

• Do Not Disturb is TURNED OFF.
• No Modes or Routines are running (there aren't any setup).
• Sound is on.
• Vibrate is on.
• No icons or app badges show up on the top.
• The apps that I am testing with I have confirmed that notifications are turned on.
• All the options are selected for the notification options (Lock Screen, App icon badge, Notification pop-up).
• This happens if the phone is sleeping or awake.
• My old phone is still using Wi-Fi and notifications work fine on that one (other than messages and phone cause that's tied to the SIM). Turning off the old phone and waiting a few minutes and trying on the new phone, same thing happens.
• If I open the offending app, I can see the unread messages.

Other than wiping the phone, skipping the SmartSwitch and starting from scratch, I am not sure how to move forward.

Yeah i reset app preferences a few days ago.

I noticed that I had an x notification in my notification under "recently dismissed" even though it never came up. Wonder if this is why no x notifications come in.

I also have a medication reminder app set to go off at 8pm. Sometimes it goes off a few minutes late, sometimes it doesn't trigger at all. It's the inconsistency of this stuff that's driving me mad.

I have until tomorrow to get a replacement handset but worried it would just be the same again.

Has anyone had success with replacing their device? I have a day to give mine back. Wondering if I should go for another s25 and do a smartswitch. But afraid the problems may just persist on a new one.

I thought about going for a pixel 9 pro but I see pixel users have this issue alot as well.

 Anyone having issues with Work Profile notifications from Outlook and Teams not doing anything on the screen when its off?  Ive gotten my S25+ pretty much working like my S24+ but the lack of work profile notifications is VERY annoying.  Its worrying that the options in the S24 are not there for the S25 and I know its a different OS and One UI version but still, this isnt that hard to get right....

Outlook works fine for me if I'm running doze stopper. Haven't tried work Teams.

I assume Doze Stopper keeps apps "awake"?

Thanks for the info.  It "appears" that completely removing the offending apps and reinstalling them in the work profile solved it.  It looks like I'm getting the normal screen off pop ups.

Really disappointing that you use their software to swap phones and basic things like this are broken.  Especially since the work profile isn't something that is transferred, you have to set it up from scratch...

Yeah it's a pain. I tried the adb dumpsys deviceidle fix and it seems to have broken gmail notifications altogether. That's a critical one. Not sure what to do now as the samsung engineer said a new device won't solve the issue.

Might try going to an old android 14 device like the s24 but unsure if that will solve the issues.

I got a new S25 Uktra yesterday and set everything up using smart switch but still went throwing each and every setting because I find that fun anyway. This morning, I noticed that Gmail notifications worked weird. I still have my old phone and have been using it as a reference point as to how to set up the new one but the notification settings are a bit awkward.

To be clear, everything is exactly the way it is on my old phone (moto g stylus 5g). I even went and added the glitter border which I find really fun, but the notifications for Gmail specifically show up later than they should. For example, I tested this by sending myself emails to confirm the issue and it kept happening, I would send the email at 8:10am and receive the notification on my old phone immediately but I wouldn't get the notification on the S25 Ultra until about 8:12am. It's a consistent 2-3 minute delay between the time of receiving the email and getting the notification. I also noticed that the phone doesn't vibrate for email notifications. I have my ringer on but I like to keep my notifications audio off because I don't want the sound to disrupt my lectures. My old phone would usually do a light vibration but the S25 Ultra doesn't seem to do so. The second one isn't as big of an issue as the first one is as I do get urgent emails fairly often and need a faster way of being informed about them.

I have DND turned off.

There are no modes active.

The ringer is on.

Notification audio is turned off.

In the end it is a Gmail thing and not a Samsung one. I tried the same thing using my PC (which is where I do most of online activity) and sent my Gmail account a test email form my primary account from my ISP. It still has not shown up in my email client nor in my online Gmail account. But I tested my primary email to a Hotmail account and it was right away in the Hotmail inbox.
