I hope to have a completely transparent navigation bar and only leave the icons to take full advantage of the screen for One UI 8.5.

The best way to take full advantage of your screen real estate is to use navigation gestures. You can even hide the gesture hint so that your entire screen in nothing but content.

Here's a screenshot of what that looks like in an app like doordash.

Oy, that quarter inch at the bottom of the screen is negligible real estate; and the navigation bar can be hidden or narrowed with NavStar.  Some people can't use gestures because of dexterity issues, and some people just don't like them.  However, those that want to use every millimeter of screen real estate, should either use gestures or elect to hide the navigation bar (even with this option, the navigation bar will always show on the home screen).

Not so if you disable gesture hint in settings rather than NavStar.

Minor difference, but Navstar's transparent gesture hint option disables the black/white background while maintaining the hint. Disabling in settings removes it altogether.1765236902286.jpg1765236902306.jpg1765237004315.jpg

I was speaking of the regular navigation bar, not the gesture hints. NavStar has a show/hide navigation bar option and you can also narrow the bar by half, fo those who want to utilize mire of the screen, but still want to use the traditional navigation buttons.
