Lock screen lighting up when using bluetooth media controls

I'm a week into my S25 Ultra experience and overall I love the phone. I do have a couple of annoyances, one of which is the subject of this post. When the lock screen is dark (AOD on) and I press play, pause, volume up or down using bluetooth controls, the lock screen lights up for a couple of seconds. My Note 20 Ultra didn't do that. Is there a setting that might cause this behavior? I'm usually using it while driving at night, and the screen lighting up is a distraction I'd rather not have.

My other annoyance is the way multiple notifications for the same app are handled. For instance, I have a notification for Gmail. I click on it and it expands to multiple notifications. On other phones, when an app had multiple notifications I could click on the one notification that was displayed and be taken directly to the app. This is my preferred behavior, and I'm sure there's a setting that changes how this works, but things have changed so much between the Note 20 and S25 that I don't even know where to start looking.

Any help would be appreciated.

As far as the screen lighting up, is there a setting in the app that may work as a notification of changes being made, like volume settings etc that shows up as that. Have you tried turning off notifications for the app that operates the Bluetooth device?

On the stacking of notifications there is little that can be done for now to making most all notifications show up separately by default, regardless if they come from within the same apps like emails, texting apps, etc. This has been a complaint by a fairy large number of people. I for one like it this way because I can expand each notification without having to view all of them that may be mixed between different apps. When I expand  a stacked notifications, then the one I click on will take me directly to the account sending out the message in the app, but it still opens the app overall.

But that is me and tbh, all of that is subjective for use. It does not mean that my like for this should apply to everyone else. Perhaps in the next software update (which is not far off), they will allow a choice between the two and should be an option.

I have yet to find an app that has a setting to specifically ungroup notifications.

I'm typically using my audiobook reader, but even when that app isn't active (after a reboot, for instance), the lock screen still lights up. I've looked all over settings and can't find anything that seems like it would control this behavior.

That is odd. Does that only occur with the audio reader?

Yes. It happens even when no audio players are active.

So only during the lockscreen or when the phone is unlocked and being used?

Only on the lock screen. It's dark - just the AOD showing, but any bluetooth button press lights the lock screen up, regardless of whether there's an active media player or not.

The only thing I think that could be happening is that maybe android auto is tripping it like updating directions or there are very quick but minor Bluetooth interruptions of some type. Open the Members app, then open Support (on the bottom right) and submit an issue in in the "Send Feedback". Otherwise, I am at a loss on this. I hope this gets resolved for you soon, perhaps with the next software update which is just around the corner (hopefully)..
