Galaxy S25Hello!
Just picked up an S25 (Verizon), and have run into issues customizing notification sounds for some apps. On the S25, I have have gone to Settings > Notifications > Advanced Settings and enabled Manage notification categories for each app. However, it seems that some apps don't interact properly with this method.
For example, On my previous LG phone, Settings > Apps & Notifications > App Info > The Weather Channel > App Notifications brings up a screen with nearly 40 different categories of notifications which one can enable/disable and set the sound for.
On the S25, Settings > Notifications > App Notifications > The Weather Channel > Notification categories has only two categories, only one of which (called Miscellaneous) allows setting a sound. I can't find any way to get to that screen I can get to in the LG phone settings that allows detailed customization of sounds for the various notifications. There doesn't seem to be any way within the TWC app to get to these sounds. I have noticed a couple of other apps that also seem to be missing the level of notification sound customization I had on the old phone.
Any ideas on what is going on here? There are no phone software or app updates available. Is there another way to get to the notification sound settings?
Thanks!

Galaxy S25The Weather Channel app is the one that I am most interested in customizing notifications sounds for at the moment...

Galaxy S25Open the Settings app on your Samsung Galaxy, Tap on Notifications, and Select App notifications.
2. Choose the Specific App:
Find the app for which you want to change the notification sound.
Tap on the app's name.
3. Access Notification Categories:
Tap on Notification categories.
This will display different notification types within that app (e.g., new messages, comments, etc.).
4. Select a Category and Sound:
Choose the specific notification category you want to customize.
Tap on Sound.
Select your desired notification sound from the available options.

Galaxy S25As mentioned in my original post, this is exactly what I did, but it isn't working right for some apps on the S25.
There should be around 30 notification categories for the TWC app, and there are only 2 on the S25. For the TWC app, this same problem occurs on my wife's S24. But the TWC app works fine on other non-Samsung phones.
For other apps, like CBS sports, all of the numerous notification categories show up on the S25.

Galaxy S25Try going to the app settings and deleting the app data. That sometimes brings back some categories, especially if you transferred the app from a previous phone. It could also eliminate categories if they are no longer there.
I'm also seeing a lot of negative reviews about the latest app update, so perhaps you should be addressing your displeasure to the app developers.
