How to remove stacked icon above

I have do not disturb on with specific apps allowed to have their notfs appear at the top, the app's icon would appear fine initially, until mutliple notifs from the same app pops up and it turns into this stacked square icon, it didn't used to be like this, is there a way to disable this?

I believe that's because Google mandated that you could only have three notifications appear at one time, and I believe they stack the rest of them.

I have never seen that status bar notification icon on any android device I have owned. It look likes a "copy" icon. There are only 3 visible icons allowed in the notification area and any more than that is followed by a 4th tiny dot, that simply indicates there are more than 3 notifications. Is there a 3rd party app installed that can create that icon?

it seems to only appear for the X application, it never used to turn into a square and would simply just show the X icon even when there's multiple notifications stacked at once, this only happened once i switched to s25 ultra

If saying "X", I am guessing X as in formerly Twitter? Something had to change that at a system level. Try uninstalling the app and then reinstall it. See if that icon comes back again.

tried it, i'm starting to think that maybe it's an s25 thing with X (twitter), i'm not sure.. it seems to be only affecting this app's icon 😮‍💨

I use X every now and then, but I never use notifications because, well bc I don't use it that much. I turned it on to see the status icon. I had six notifications, but only the X icon shows in the status bar.

it's really weird.. i just sent a text to Samsung for help, think they'll give me a call later on

Hey, so i think i figured out what was going on, i've noticed others going through the same thing as well and apparently, it's due to the OneUI 7 update, it changes the X icon into a square when there are many notifications for no apparent reason.. there's no way to fix this but at least now i know i'm not alone
