Galaxy S25I got an S25 today and I have a very specific look I like my phones to have. Everyone has a set profile photo. However, one of my contacts won't save the photo I assign. I even reached out to this person and they turned their profile sharing off but their ugly photo remains. How do I fix this? Nothing is working and I'm starting to wish I never got the phone.

From what I understand, if you have profile card activated on your phone and the person you are texting has a profile card program activated on their phone, their profile card will reach out and change yours because it's their profile card and they decide which picture to put on it. Seems a little backwards to me but I believe that's the way it works.

Galaxy S25Yes, but you do actually have to turn off profile picture sharing in the contacts app from *your* side, otherwise, even if you set a default picture, if someone changes their profile picture, it will change on your list.

Galaxy S25Did they really turn their profile sharing off? Maybe they got insulted that you asked them to change a picture of them you didn't like because it didn't meet your esthetic. I'm sure they used a picture *they* liked and weren't about to change it for you. Have you turned off profile picture sharing on your phone? I understand it has to be off on your end to keep the picture you assigned.

Galaxy S25My problem is this isn't a complete solution to the old ability to set default info. This seems to fix the photos, and email/phone default for a contact can be set by long press, but I have two contacts merged one of those hold a nickname for the person. I want to see the nickname not the full name in my contact list. The really odd part is that on one contact stored the same way, the nickname defaults but on others, it insists on presenting the full name.
