Dear Samsung Support,

I’m reaching out to express serious concern over the current text selection behavior on the Galaxy S25. It’s no longer possible to copy just a portion of a message—such as a word, code, or address—with a simple long press.

When I press and hold on a message, only emoji reactions appear—there’s no option to select or copy specific text. The only way to copy now is to go to the top of the screen, tap the copy icon, which then copies the entire message to the clipboard. I then have to paste that full message into another app just to extract the one piece of information I actually needed. This is incredibly inefficient, time-consuming, and a huge step backward from the seamless functionality of previous Galaxy models.

This issue is more than just a personal frustration—it actively impacts user perception. A colleague of mine saw the hoops I had to jump through just to copy an address from a text and decided not to upgrade to the Galaxy S25 or choose Samsung at all because of it. That’s how noticeable—and disruptive—this issue is.

I truly hope this feedback is taken seriously and escalated to the development team. Text selection should be intuitive and efficient, not a multi-step workaround.

From what I have found is that it is a Google messages issue, not Samsung. I experience the same thing. I installed Samsung messages and it does not exhibit that behavior. Also, the text in your comment here is incredibly small. I had to increase (magnify) the screen size to about 150% to be able to read that.

Like Tom6068 said, that's a Google Messages thing. A quick work around is to use your Circle to Search function. Long press the bottom of your screen, in the middle, then just highlight what you want and then hit copy. Done.

I'm more concerned about the teeny, tiny font you are using and expecting people to strain their eyes to see. And, this is not Samsung support, this is a peer-to-peer user help forum.  If you want to send feedback to Samsung support, use the feedback option in the support tab of the Members app.

I have the exact same issue on my Samsung Ultra 25. I do not use Google messages. Workaround or no workaround, this makes zero sense considering previous models had this feature.
