Make sure you finger is clean and dry and the screen isn't scratched or wet

You can register up to 3 prints (for insurance, or just because one hand is busy). You can erase and redo the bad print. You can name each one so you know which fingers you registered.

Are you using a screen protector?
Did you register your fingerprints before putting on the screen protector?
If the answer is yes to any of those questions, that's your answer.
Redo your prints, make sure touch sensitivity is enabled.
