Calendar App won't sync between S25 phones

My boyfriend and I both have S25 phones. We both have the Samsung Calendar app. I've followed the create calendar multiple times but it still won't sync my calendar (primary) within app. Any ideas?

My wife and I have accomplished this by sharing our Google calendars with one another.

Then, we added our google calendars to Samsung Calendar and manage from there.

We do it this way rather than Samsung calendar sharing so we can also manage our calendars from our Alexa and Skylight devices.
