You know I've been very confused about this lately, and I know it's something small, but personally, I don't really like it. After One UI 7 (I'm on One UI 8 now), I noticed that anytime you tap on something, there's a white highlight effect or a dark highlighted effect, as shown in the picture. For example, if I open an app, the app icon darkens for a split second, and then it opens the app. I honestly liked it before when it didn't do that and it just showed I pressed on it without highlighting it. Is there a way I could revert this? If not, could it be a future feature where we could remove it?

Sorry, what you are describing is the intended behavior. These are visual indicators of elements you are interacting with. I will do some digging through accessibility settings and revisit this thread, but to my knowledge, this behavior cannot be disabled.

I know it is sadly, but I'd be very nice if there was a way to revert it. Let me know what you could find! 😊

I did some digging through both accessibility settings and developer options. While you can reduce or disable most of the animations, touch interactions are not one of the things that you can disable.

To make requests, visit the support tab in this app and navigate to "Send feedback."

My animations are at 0.5x, but I'll put a feedback on it, maybe some else might know as well, thank you tho 🙂

Must be a S series thing. I have no transitional effects when tapping an icon.

Try going to accesibility settinhs snd turning on reduce animations. This supposedly turns off animation effects on the home screen which may or may not include app opening. I have this off myself and, as I said have no noticible effects. You can switch the transition animations in developer options to off.

I have done this like I said but unfortunately that hasn't worked, I would also still want some type of animation but right now I have it set to 0.5 x but it still gives the highlight effect even if it's at no animations

It might be a glitch. Has it always been this way, or did you just have an update? If you just had an update, have you cleared the phone cache?
