A lot are having issues with oneui 7 and a lot of blame for these bugs are placed on Samsung. I don't have any of these bugs and my device runs smoothly. Ive been on oneui 7 since beta and despite the u.i. changes that are disliked, this post is about the numerous bugs a lot are dealing with so it Brought me to ask, why. Why is mine and some others running fine while others are plagued?
I decided to research this and heres the jist of what i found. My device is a galaxy s24 ultra, unbranded and factory unlocked. My updates come from samsung, NOT FROM A CARRIER. Unlocked/unbranded devices dont get the updates from their carrier like carrier branded devices do. We dont get the Carrier bloatware or carrier modifications and its here where the problem is. So, Samsung gets Android from Google then customizes it to their liking then adds oneui interface. Its debugged till it runs smoothly for samsung devices. At this point, for unlocked devices, the update is pushed. For carrier branded devices, the update is pushed to the carrier and the carrier adds their stuff to it which is where most of you are having issues. Im almost 99% sure that your carrier is the reason for all the issues. This is why i never went and got a device from a carrier because they add stuff that crashes and lags the device. This has been known since the CyanogenMod days which is one reason custom roms was born. But im not here to talk about custom software, i would suggest you send your bugs to your carrier as oneui 7 base from samsung is working well on unlocked/unbranded devices.
There is a way to make your U device a U1 device breaking you away from your carrier branded device but it cant be discussed here and should only be done by experienced users.
I have 7 family members with unlocked/unbranded devices, all running good with the new oneui 7, i have 3 family members who have att branded and 2 with T-Mobile branded, all 5 of them have issues with oneui 7 and after a factory reset the issues came back. I flashed them from U to U1 and those issues are no longer present. So i will gather that most of you having issues is coming from your carrier. 🖖🏻
