I would only trust buying it from Samsung directly, as they offer a 1-year warranty. I wouldn't trust any other place to purchase it. With Samsung refurbished devices, you know they are fully tested and work correctly. Therefore, I highly recommend buying refurbished if you can't purchase new.

I tested the going price for Samsung S8+ and the highest for 8 yr old phone was $125, with average about $60 or less. Myself I'd keep it if he still works fine for other duties like I use older one in the kitchen for tunes on Bluetooth Bose speaker and timers cooking. Check with friends if they have one that they're about to upgrade to newer one. Otherwise like guest suggested ~ Samsung offers are best outcome. Cheers

I got that exact model recently & I'm pretty happy with it. Mostly. I was using a budget One+ previously so I'm still getting accustomed to the Samsung UI. Biggest Pro for me is the 12g of ram & a good processor. The camera is ok. Not way way better than my Budget phone but still better. Fast charging is definitely good. Dex is cool, but I rarely use it so far. There's no SD card slot so go big on the storage. Video files are stupidly large on high settings. Average around 5 gigs per min. Video is noticeably better than the camera in my opinion.
Oh and definitely keep that s8! It's one of the few models that supports high resolution VR!
The biggest con for me is the inability to ever get root privileges & super customize it how I'd like. But the guaranteed updates are a good trade off.
