Text mic disappeared

My mic icon has disappeared and I have no idea why. I cannot talk text. Anyone else?

If you are using Samsung keyboard and choose to keep using it, you have to go to settings/general management/keyboard list and default and turn on "show keyboard icon on navigation bar".  This will put the keyboard switching/voice input icon on the left side of the navigation bar.  Long pressing on the icon will switch it to the microphone.  If, on the other hand, you want to have the microphone where it belongs, and where you are used to it being, switch to Google Keyboard or SwiftKey.

Have you had the mic stay with gboard? @realaud ive had this issue too....

The mic stays right where it is on Gboard. You can switch its position on the tool bar or remove it, but it's your choice. Even if you remove it in favor of another icon, it's still accessible in the hidden panel.

If your referring to the voice to text microphone try this

Phone settings

General Management

Keyboard list and default

Toggle on show keyboard button on navigation bar

Now you should see a microphone or keyboard icon in the bottom left corner of your screen if its the keyboard icon long press it and select voice input

You can also use the Spacebar button 

Go to Settings

General Management

Samsung Keyboard settings

Swipe, touch, and feedback

Touch and hold spacebar

Change the setting to Voice Input

Now you can activate voice input by long-pressing the spacebar.
