Text Message reminders/Nudges, how to turn off? NEW

This question was asked a couple of years ago and the accepted answer was:

To turn them off, go to your Messages app > tap the 3 dot menu > Settings > Suggestions > Nudges > toggle off

I am currently having the same issue (I remember turning it on but I couldn't remember how I did it) and attempted the solution suggested above.

However, I do not have 'Suggestions' on my Settings menu, nor can I find it anywhere.

These nudges are really annoying; how do I turn them off?

@Ronto Are you using Samsung Messages or Google Messages?

It looks like the solution that you found is for Google Messages. The current instructions are a little different. Open the app -> Click your Avatar -> Click Messages settings -> Suggestions -> Nudges.

Go to phone settings, notifications, apps, then follow along...

Yeah, after "Configure in Messages", my phone goes to a screen whose options I have thoroughly checked and none resemble your screen shot.

And, anyway, the nudges I get are far less than 1 hour apart, more like a minute or two apart.

My workaround now is to put my phone on 'Do Not Disturb' until I have time to deal with the text.

I found the solution, partially thanks to you.

On Settings > Notifications screen, instead of 'App Notifications', I chose 'Advance Settings' > 'Repeat Notification Alerts' and I got this screen and, of course, immediately removed Messages.
