This has been addressed numerous times in this forum. Please use the search function to look for solutions before creating a new post.

This is the consolidated thread regarding this issue:
https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S24/How-do-I-silence-my-phone-on-One-ui-8/td-p/3368456?sr...

The behavior has been changed, most likely to prevent accidental silencing of the phone which would result in missed calls and notifications.

☆ The current recommended workaround to restore the desired behavior:

Settings > Modes and Routines > Routines. Tap the + in the top right.

If: button action > volume down > press and hold

Then: Sound Mode > Silent

Save the routine. Your phone now silences when you long press volume down.

Note: This method requires Routines+ to be installed.

Thank you but thia does not work for me. Installed app and followed steps. Texting myself from my work phone but it still vibrates. I just want to be able to hear my alarm in the morning and not all text vibrations all night long.

You can also tap the volume quick toggle to cycle through sound modes (sound/vibrate/silent).1762016415984.jpg

Can you share a screenshot of the routine you made? If you followed all steps, it should be working.

Alternatively, consider using Do Not Disturb through the night. DND is really the intended feature for the use case you are describing.

Please tap the routine to show the if/then conditions. I am not able to tell anything from your screenshot

Also, you will likely need to enable customization service using the prompt at the top
